Hua Hin Thai Property
I
was lucky to catch Khun Gon for an hour
in Hua Hin when I did. He was rushing
to help a friend complete a contract of
a condo purchase and then off to Bangkok
to teach and temple class on meditation.
From Jan to today, have you seen any
differences in the market?
Yes I have. I think there are two
factors to the market if you consider it
-- the customer and the
developers/projects.
From the point of view of customers,
most of who are tourists, recently
Thailand has unfortunately been hit with
a slew of events that have been
detrimental to the good image of
Thailand. The visa laws were more
heavily re-enforced from the 25th
of May, company formations were closely
scrutinized, there was a military coup
in September, there were bomb blasts on
New Years Eve in Bangkok, and at the end
they put in place financial restrictions
that will allow the government to
withhold 30% of funds transferred into
Thailand if the amount is over $20,000.
So for customers interested in Hua Hin,
they have been faced with a scary
picture and an unsure future. However
having said that, we have been able to
sell properties to serious customers and
customers who have been to Hua Hin
before, know the situation, and know
that it will subside soon. These
customers have faith that Hua Hin will
always be a desirable paradise to live
in. |
